Habits |
- Kid Joker continually takes a form of 'Venom' in the form of 'quick release' candies as well as through injections.
- He constantly smiles and laughs and jokes, to mask his true feelings.
- He really likes candy, even candy that doesn't supply him with Teen Titan Venom and will steal it habitually.
- He's gotten into the habit of needing to make anyone he kills laugh before they die. At least chuckle. Even if it's forced, it counts.
Overall Personality | Describing Kid Joker's personality is difficult, because he is constantly changing what and who he is in order to cope with what he has become of his life. When ever he meets a problem or an anxiety he can't deal with on his own, he abandons the part of him that was holding him back and recreates himself to fill the hole, or function with out it. Generally some common themes remain present in his personality. These things are mainly the parts of himself that he has come to rely on to survive in his life. He hates to lose and has a childish sense of Justice. He's very stubborn, spiteful and hateful. His sense of humor is cruel and twisted. He's prone to depression and extreme cases of denial. He has a short temper and is very prideful. He's very determined, but tends to have a one track mind. Like The Joker, Kid Joker feels the need to 'be funny' and to make people laugh. He's got a flare for the dramatics and needs to put on his 'act', even to the people who very likely want to beat him to a bloody pulp.
SPECIAL
Powers and Abilities |
Juiced - Kid Joker is addicted to a weaker offshoot of the, newly developed, and experimental 'Titan' and must continue taking it or will suffer from extreme withdrawal symptoms. Titan is a more powerful version of 'Venom' the drug that was used by the infamous villain 'Bane' to gain his powers. The version that Kid Joker takes is codenamed 'Teen Titan Venom' and is considerably weaker than Bane's original Venom in it's physical enhancing abilities, but at the same time the dosage needed to sustain it's effects and stave off withdraw symptoms are considerably smaller and thus more manageable. Bane needed to have a steady flow of Venom pumped directly into his brain via tubes. Kid Joker only needs to inject himself regularly, and/or take special TTV candies. The candies give him improved strength, endurance, stamina, and even increases muscle mass, all dependent on the amount in his system.
How Many Licks To The Center of Hell? - Constantly sucking on the hard candy version of TTV is designed to sustain the effects of weekly injections, but biting down on the candies and eating it can give quick boost to the amount of TTV in the system.
Wicked Smile – Because TTV has been introduced into Kid Joker's system through his mouth for so long, his teeth and jaw have mutated to become stronger. With high levels of TTV introduced into his system, Kid can bite through steel. At the same time, his gums bleed easily, though aside from the bleeding, the gums are stronger as well. One of the most extreme of withdrawal symptoms for long periods of time is for Kid Joker's mouth to rot away and his teeth to fall out, but reintroducing the drug will grow back his mutated smile.
Natural Born Killer – Kid Joker has not been trained by the best masters of martial arts. He hasn't ever even received one lesson in any style, but a great man once said “I'd rather be lucky than good.” Kid is extremely lucky in the sense that he was born with a natural talent for fighting. He was an average student before he fell into madness, except for in one area. He has always found it easy to understand brawling. He's learned the best ways break things, by breaking them. He's always understood and remembered the cruel lessons that are taught by the pain of being struck and losing fights. These lessons infused in him his innate hatred for losing and desire to win. He's a self taught prodigy of sorts in the form of brawling. He relied on instinct and talent rather than skill. Of course now, he relies on instinct, talent, and drugs. If only he had worked hard at a proper martial art.
He often carries a knife, sometimes several.
Occasionally, but not too often he will prepare and use 'props' for his jokes, but this is rare as he doesn't often plan ahead. By no means can he just magically pull out any prop he needs for any specific situation. He will only pull out a prop if he had already prepared it before hand in another thread, or if mentioned that it was prepared before it is needed. Mentioning that it was prepared earlier, right when it was needed, is not acceptable.
In other words, in some threads it at the beginning in the first or second post it might be mentioned that he prepared a special prop, for example a prop flower that squirts out acid. This will not be done in the middle of fights or encounter.
Weaknesses |
- Withdrawal Symptoms – TTV gives Kid incredible abilities, but going too long with out it will cause him to go through terrible withdrawal symptoms. He must constantly suck on TTV candies. If he fails to have a candy in his mouth, he will start to feel cravings, but at this point it is just psychological. He just thinks he's going through withdrawal symptoms, but truth be told there is a small grace period were he physically will be OK and even be able to retrain his abilities. These abilities will quickly decline of course, and as time passes he will begin to suffer real symptoms. These early symptoms are basically the opposite of the benefits he enjoys when he has TTV in his system. He will become weaker and scrawnier. As this happens his body will complain with aches and pains. Eventually he'll become thin and sickly. Most likely by then he will not be able to move, as he will be in too much pain. He can become rendered unconscious, and his teeth will fall out and his gums will rot. Of course the last symptom is a nasty case of death.
- Unlike The Joker, Kid is not a genius and he is not Super-Sane, he is just insane. Kid is just a pale imitation. His mind is weak, and diluted. He's not good at making plans or thinking things through, and was never really good at that before he started taking drugs. Which also explains why he's taking drugs. Emotionally he's very weak, and can only run away from his own feelings. His feelings are a difficult weakness to exploit, but if you can, you can probably destroy Kid Joker at his core. Maybe even save Loyd.
- Like The Joker, Kid Joker feels the need to 'be funny' and to make people laugh. He's got a flare for the dramatics and needs to put on his 'act', even to the people who very likely want to beat him to a bloody pulp. This can leave him vulnerable, and often can make stealth maneuvers impossible.
- When pressured, Kid Joker will suffer from 'panic attacks' from time to time. He will generally become short of breath and feel like he's dying, even if he's physically fine. Generally while he has a steady flow of TTV, he will not have panic attacks.
- The great evil Kid Joker can be destroyed if you stab him through the heart with a sword or arrow.
Strengths |
- He's resourceful, he's good at thinking on his feet, but not making plans. He'll easily make an improvised weapon out of just about anything. He also learns easily from his mistakes and the mistakes of his enemies, when it comes to fighting.
- Being a lone villain, he has little responsibilities and what little he does, few would be shocked when he ignores them. Thus he has time to focus on what he feels needs to be done, with little obligations holding him back.
- He's a stubborn survivor. Where others might have died or given up, he found a way to survive. Even if everything is taken from him, he'll still desperately try to continue living, even if he has to remake his mind.

History | Loyd Gonzaga led a normal life. He was all around a normal kid and like most normal kids, he looked up to and idolized The Batman. At same time, most kids at that time also would look at villains and become fascinated. Loyd always secretly felt that The Joker was very cool, though you wouldn't here him talk about it. Still, at the end of the day, Loyd was a good kid. When he heard that Batman had taken a young ward, Loyd came to respect and idolize Robin as well, but deep down he felt a bit of jealousy towards him. Though that was probably normal too.
One day, Loyd was lucky enough to meet The Joker himself. It was during another one of The Joker's many plans to mess with Batman for no apparent reason, using the lives of innocents. Loyd happened to be one of those lucky few innocents and so were the rest of his class. Loyd was so stricken with fear and anxiety, he began to have problems breathing. Falling to his knees, he realized he might die like this. He was so afraid, he would die. He didn't want to die, he desperately wanted to live. So he convinced himself he wasn't afraid. There's no way he could die anytime soon. No, instead this anxiety he felt was excitement! He convinced himself that he was excited. This was a rare chance to meet not only The Joker but Batman and Robin, too!
Loyd escaped from his bindings and left the other hostages to get a better view, but wasn't out of danger. There was no way for him to escape or help the others. Instead he focused on getting a better view. There he met the Joker. After a short exchange of dialog, in which The Joker toyed with Loyd, The Joker killed the other hostages as a joke in response to a small pun that Loyd told to the Joker.
Loyd watched as his classmates plummeted in full free fall, with a chorus of the screams accompanying them, though he survived himself. He was saved by Batman, before The Joker could finish him off.
At first Loyd felt it was his fault his classmates died, but later shifted the blame to Batman. In Batman's confrontation with The Joker, Loyd became enamored with how happy The Joker seemed, and developed a strong desire to be that happy himself.
Loyd was hospitalized and looked after for mental trauma because of the ordeal. In his captivity he became a media darling for his crazy rants blaming Batman for the deaths of his friends.
Loyd was hated and despised by all who could recognize him for his belligerent ranting in the hospital and the way the media spun it. He was alienated and avoided, but at this point he didn't really notice. He still was not over what had happened. He still couldn't cope, that's when he found it. A small box, left on his bed. He had no idea how it got there, since no one in his family would speak to him more than two words, let alone enter his room. The box had only a playing card on it, a 'Joker'. Scribbled on it with red ink were the words, “Keep working on your Act, Kid.”
When Loyd opened the box, a gas immediately began spraying out of it. It filled his whole room. Loyd was overcome with emotion. He couldn't stop laughing. He laughed and laughed, so hard that he felt he could die from it. He probably would. He knew what it was, it was the infamous lethal laughing gas, signature to The Joker. He knew he would die, but on some level he wished for that. He laughed and laughed. It felt good to laugh again and yet... He looked down in the box, there was more inside. There vials and a needle. The vials were marked 'TTV'. On the lid of the box were instructions written in the same dark red ink.
“This is Venom. If you take this, you might be able to survive. Maybe. Of course, if you take this, it could kill you on it's own. Die or Die. Make your choice,” It read. Loyd could picture The Joker's laughter in his mind. He took the injection. At first he was wracked with pain, as the poison surged through his veins and spread through out his muscles and the rest of his system. He fell to the ground, writhing in pain and laughing, laughing, laughing. Then it felt good. Really good. He could feel what seemed like an immeasurable amount of strength. He felt invincible. He continued to laugh still. It felt good to laugh, but he could feel his muscles tensing up and aching from it as he laughed harder and harder. If it weren't for the Venom increasing his endurance, he would have died by then. He laughed harder than he thought was possible, then he noticed laughter coming from outside his room. His family were laughing too! They sounded so happy.
When the gas had worn off, Loyd was still alive, but barely. His family was not so alive, but Loyd didn't care. He felt as if The Joker had chosen him. Perhaps it was at their meeting, or perhaps it was what was being said about him and what he felt about Batman and Robin, but whatever the case, Loyd decided to become Kid Joker.
The cruel reality is that what The Joker had sent was not Venom, but instead a 'failed' strain of the new Titan Venom. This strain wasn't as effective, and had a 84% mortality rate for those who took it. The only successful thing about it was that, of the 16% who's systems didn't reject the poison, they needed smaller dosages to maintain the effects and avoid withdrawal symptoms.
The Joker had sent this deemed 'failure' to Loyd as a sick joke, but when Loyd survived, Joker decided to keep sending Loyd supplies of the TTV, as a running joke. Of course he would only do this when it was convenient for him. Other than that, he did not contact Loyd, and Loyd had no way of contacting The Joker. He just received mysterious package after mysterious package. He had to learn for himself how much needed and what the effects of what were. He also needed to ration his little candy treats and injections. He didn't know when the next package would 'appear', and at any time The Joker could just decide to stop sending them.

Anything Else |
Sample RP | Kid Joker cleared his throat as best he could. His eyes slowly began to open, no longer able to ignore the light of the run blazing down on him. He slowly began to push off of the cold concrete that was his bed, his body aching. His usual smile wasn't present, instead with grim and weary look he rubbed his temples. His head was screaming at him for the poor choices he had made last night.
"Dammit, I'm sick and tired of getting my ass handed to me by Batman," he mumbled to himself as he stood up wearily and forced a large wicked smile to spread across his face. He had no reason for to smile, other than the fact that he needed to. The amount of Venom in his system was running low, and with all the activity he had burned out a lot of what was left. His teeth started chattering nervously as he desperately searched his pockets for some special candy. After finding one, way at the bottom of he quickly began to fumble with the wrapping. His hands were shaking violently from withdrawal, and with a pull he unwrapped the tiny hard candy, but also popped it up out of his hands. It fell to the ground and rolled along the dirty alley floor.
Kid desperately dove after it, grasping it up and quickly popping it into his wide arched mouth. It tasted sour, but he liked sour. It wasn't enough Venom to make all the aching stop, let alone heal his injuries, but it would at least stop him from getting worse. He stood and gripped his side as he slowly began to make his way out of the alley way that had been his home for the night.
If it weren't for that explosion last night, he wouldn't have had the opportunity to escape from Batman, after nearly being KO'd by the 'normal' human.
"I do have to remember to thank those burning orphans," Kid said to himself widening his smile. The thought of that orphanage burning down made him feel better, but it also reminded him that he was forced to flee... again... by the Dark Knight.
'What is this? Why do I have to fight Batman?' The thought popped into Loyd' mind. 'Didn't he save me once before? But he also beats me... a lot.'
The cruel reality of his repeated failure made it hard to keep smiling, he had to think of something else. 'I've been fighting Batman for so long... You'd think I'd run into Robin at some point by now... Hadn't met him yet. I could surely beat Robin up... That's right, we're kids after all, it'd be a fair fight... It's messed up for Batman to be picking on me...' His twisted mind reasoned.
"Real mature, Bats!" he screamed out of the alley, attracting the worried stares of a few people who were passing by on the sidewalk. Kid chuckled at the people's stares.
He began to walk down the sidewalk, feeling good enough to walk up straight. "Where is... Robin?" He mumbled as he went.
"You don't know?" Jimmy the Teeth, called out to him. Jimmy was a small time fence. He would focus on selling the classics, a fake Rolex here, an imitation Prada there, but even though his merchandise wasn't anything special he always seemed to have the down low. He got his nick name, because of a large old-fashioned retainer that he always wore. Kid had just passed him on the street when he had murmured his question.
Kid turned to Jimmy with his bemused smile, his head cocked to the side. "Hey, man, Robin is gonesville. He's been that way since before you started acting up," Jimmy explained. "He bailed on Gotham, went to some place called Jump City. He's stomping around with some new gang of super Heros." he continued.
"Guess he got tired of being Batman's decoy," Kid said with a shrug. "I think fancy myself a little vacation. I figure I'll check out this Chump City, maybe make a few new friends... and enemies," Kid thought out loud as he turned from Jimmy, and began walking away.
