The Clincher (Kevin/Jiro)

A normal day? There was no such thing in the life of Fate Lingod. Well, it was somewhat feeling like a normal kid. He had a friend, Kevin Strife, who he loved to annoy, but in the end he enjoyed his company. Then there was Kasumi, his fiancee. Also did I mention his powers? Okay, so he was far from normal. Kids his age were worried about when the next pop quiz was or what they were going to wear at the school dance on Friday. On the other hand, Fate was worried about never losing control and not killing innocent people, especially those close to him.

Today, he was chilling with Kevin. Guy time one would say. He walked down the streets of Jump City with his friend, trying to come up with a super hero team name. It was only them two part of the team at the moment, but he was sure they would find more members... Hopefully. "I got it man! Static and the Charges.... Or Chargers. Whichever one you like better." Fate was sure that was a winner. Can will get some ice cream? We just ate! You trying to give me a tummy ache. ... You sounded so sensitive just then. Stop bein' a marshmellow and get some ice cream. Reese's Cup Blizzard to be exact.

Kevin had enjoyed life in this city so far. Going to school, meeting new people, eating food, and most importantly saving civilians from evil-doers. Today just happened to be one of his favorite kind of days, the kind of day where he just chilled with his best friend on the planet Fate. Fate was an idiot, to say the least, but he was Kevin's idiot. They were talking down the street, finishing up the last few things needed for Kevin's idea for a super hero team. The team name! So far, neither of them had any good ideas, but hopefully that would change soon.

"Why would I be a charger? I don't use electricity! Plus, it's my idea so my name should come first! Kayaman and the Kayanites! I like the sound of that!" He liked the sound of that, but he was sure Fate would have objections. They needed to come up with a name so they could get that name out in the streets and well known! So they could give the city something new to talk about!

The Judge was enjoying his time off from his elder form. Despite enjoying the training of Kevin Strife, having a day off was important for a sensei as well. So the Judge made his way to the bank and walked inside. He withdrew a good hundred bucks and sighed when he heard a click of a loaded gun. "EVERYBODY GET DOWN." the masked man yelled as he rose from his seat and shot a warning shot. MOTHER OF GOD AND THE DIXI CHICKS. ONE DAY OF PEOPLE NOT BEING DICKS IS ALL I ASK FOR. The Judge yelled to himself in thought as he felt a gun press against his neck.

"YOU...DOWN OR I BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT." the man yelled. Judge was pretty close to spinning around and lobbing off one of the mans arms. But decided to comply since he was in his youth form and was probably just letting anger control him. The Judge quietly got down and sat as the robber asked the lady for money with the gun to her head.

"What the hell is a Kayanite? No! How is that better than the name I came up with!?" He asked, "How about the Thunderbolts? Runaways? X-Force? X-Factor?" Okay, now Fate was just throwing names out there, but anything was better than Kayaman and the Kayanites. And he really did want to know what the hell was a Kayanite? Thunderbolts... Really? Fate felt like punching himself in the face, but then it hit him. A name that they both could agree on. It was sweet yet sour. "The Young Avengers! That's gotta be it!"

The sound of sirens could be heard before a police car came dashing around the corner, stopping at the nearby bank. Soon four more police cars followed and the officers got out the car, one reaching for the meagphone (I think that's what they are called). "Come out with your hands up! I repeat come out with your hands up!" As if that was going to work. This was Fate and Kevin's chance to make their new team known to the public eye. It wasn't about being seen. It was about protecting people. But it would make people feel more safe and evil-doers more catious of their actions to know a new super hero duo was on the scene. He figured Kevin was thinking the same thing he was. Fate walked down to an empty alleyway and reached into his backpack, revealing a wicked cool mask/helmet. "So how do we plan on getting in there without any of the hostages getting hurt?"

"Well, a Kayanite is..... I .... I don't know." Kevin truthfully answered. He had made it up on the spot, and didn't give it much thought. But he gave it more thought than the stupid names Fate was spewing out now. "Are you stupid?! Those are ugly names! Plus where did we runaway from? Nowhere!... Well, you did... Sorry"
He felt bad after mention the running away thing, but he was sure Fate would brush the whole thing off. "The Young Avengers..... I love it! Fate, for someone so stupid you're a genius!"

He was cut off from raining any more praise upon Fate by the sound of sirens and the shouts of police officers and the screech of tires. Apparently, a bank robbery was in progress, which put a smirk on Kevin's face. This was the perfect chance to give the city something new to talk about! The emergence of a new Dynamic-Duo! He just knew Fate was thinking the same thing he was. His suspicion was confirmed when Fate ducked into an alleyway, and Kevin followed suit. He pressed the red button on his wrist watch, changing into his Kayaman outfit. "Well, we have the element of surprise, they won't expect us to rush in. So I can go in at super speed catching them off guard, and you can come in behind me while their attention is on me, and we take them down! How's that sound?"

The Judge remained silent not mentioning his katana at his side. Oddly enough they didn't notice it so Judge didn't touch it. He noticed that a mother and daughter were holding each other and one of the men who was rather rude walked closer smiling. Judge glanced around and could see two men by the door barricading it. One man at the register, two in the back rooms. And one harassing the mother and her daughter who looked 12. The man chuckled and 'wanted to have a good time,' while the women begged him to leave her alone. Judge wanted to stand still but every moment the man poked and prodded the mother he got angry. One man tried to calm down the robber and he got shot in the chest. This obviously caused everyone to remain completely still and the woman sobbed at the mans heroic yet invain actions. The second the tear dropped Jiro stood. The woman saying, "WAIT NO!" ended up being the last few words the man heard as he began to turn around and lift his gun. But in the blink of an eye a blade could be seen pointing behind the man. No gun went off but the man screamed in agony as his arm fell limp to the floor. The man fell to his knees and began begging before Judge said. "May you find mercy with God. For you will find none here." as he prepared to behead him but noticed the girl quivering with fear. He instead whacked the man with the hilt of his sword and knocked him out.

And if the scream of their comrade didn't catch the other robbers attention the thump of his body did as the one at the register turned around. But before even blinking Judge was behind him and placed his blade at his neck. "Don't move. Or you die." he muttered as the other two guys at the door turned and aimed at the Judge and their 'leader.' The two guys in the back hearing the noise also made their way to the front. "Your....your so dead freak!" he leader yelled at Judge before he calmly smiled. "Aku....soku...zan. If i die, you go to hell with me." he said coldly.

"Seriously!? You don't even know what it is!? At least we know what a Charge is!" He sighed, "Man, you lucky I am a good friend. What are they teaching you in school?" Yeah, just a typical day for Fate and Kevin. To others it may seem like they were fighting, but they weren't. They had their differences apparently, but in the end it was nothing, but teasing. As he said he was sorry, Fate just waved his hand as if he was brushing it off. He knew Kevin didn't mean anything by what he said so no harm done. "Yeah, i'm the smartest stupid person ever," He smiled, "Sadly, you just stupid. But it's okay. That's why I keep you around."

He quickly changed into his hero outfit which wasn't much and his mask (too lazy to describe it so pic below ^0^). He pulled his cape, feeling like a big time superhero now. With the mask on his voice would sound slightly different. "Sounds like a plan. Well, let's go save th--" Fate was cut short when he heard the sound of gun fire. Already! So much for no one getting hurt. He looked to Kevin. "Alright. No time to test the waters. Gotta dive right in," He saluted to Kevin, "I'll create a few diversion with my abilites. You go hurt some bad guys." He smirked under his mask waiting for Kevin to make it to the front door. He started to concentrate on the bank building. Inside, the lights and everything electrical powered would start going haywired. This is so cool. We gonna be on the news. You think a car would be too much? No such thing as too much man! He was sure had made it in the building by now so why not make his own entrance? He turned his attention to one of the cop cars. He loved that cars had electrical batteries nowadays. It was perfect! The car was aimed right at the one of the windows. Suddenly the car slammed into the window. Moments later Fate or Static walked in, figuring Kevin had already taken care of the bad guys. "So... What I miss? Or more importantly who I miss?"

(Fate's Hero Outfit... Yeah, I went there.)

"You might know what a Charge is, but it still sounded lame! Besides, charge could be a number of different things, that would never work!" Kevin said shaking his head. He knew Fate was slow and never went to school, so he had to explain these things to him. "In school, they teach me how to tolerate people. Pretty much why I hang with you, it's like a homework assignment."

Kevin watched Fate don the rest of his outfit, and nodded his approval. He had to admit, Fate looked pretty cool. The voice altering feature of his helmet was also a nice touch. He gave him a thumbs up. "Looks cool everytime I see it...." He said. "Tell anyone I said that and you die." Before he could say anything else, he heard a gunshot go off inside. He nodded to Fate. "Gotcha." And without any further words, he dashed to the entrance of the building.

He waited for Fate's distraction before he ran in to dispose of the remaining criminals. As soon as he he saw the electrical chaos, he swiftly moved inside and delivered quick chops to the neck's on the two by the door, rendering them unconscious. He saw a man holding one of the robbers at sword point at the register, so he wouldn't have to worry about him for now. Before the other two could even process what was happening, Kayaman delivered a side kick to one of them, sending him into the other and sending them both flying into a wall, creating a small dent from the impact, also knocking them out. He was about to handle the last one, but he could hear something outside coming and dove, knocking the swordsman down with him as the leader was smashed into a wall by a police car, no doubt courtesy of Fate. He got up and brushed off his pants, turning to his partner. "Well, you didn't miss much.... And you didn't miss anyone either, you took out the last one... With a car... Good job!"

The Judge sighed when he heard the two speak outside and had a feeling something stupid would happen. Oddly enough two of the bad guys were knocked out and the first ally took out the second two in seconds. Wow this might actually be useful backup. he thought as he sensed something coming. He let go of the leader as the first man who he recognized as Kevin Strife by his aura dove and pushed him out of the way of an oncoming car. He gets up dusting off himself and sighing," ARE YOU TWO IDIOTS? THAT CAR COULD HAVE KILLED A CIVILIAN." he growled drawing his blade and aiming it at the new masked man. Pointing his hand at Kevin he growled and said," AND YOU. YOU SHOULD BE TRAINING. NOT STOPPING BANK ROBBERIES." Is subtle a word people understand anymore. he thought facepalming. Then again he couldn't say much considering he was stopping the bank robbery with just a katana and so far cost some random guy his arm. Well at least no one got physically harmed. he thought grumbling to himself.

Fate... I mean Static slowly walked over to the leader who he had taken out by accident. "I guess crime doesn't pay... hehehe..." He said, "Seriously, are you okay man?" Fate nudge the man with his foot and the man moaned. That was a sign that he was perfectly fine to Fate. But then some old guy started to go off in a rant. Talk 'bout ungrateful or should I say ungraceful... hahhaha I don't get it... ... Yeah, I didn't get it either. A little girl than approached Fate. Fate looked at the girl and smiled under his mask.

"Are you the Green Arrow? Can I have your autograph?"

What!? He didn't even have arrow or a bow nor did his outfit have a lick of green. Fate took a second to breathe so he would snap the girl's neck. "No, i'm not the Green Arrow. I'm Static. A new hero from a group called the Young Avengers." The little girl looked at him and mouthed his name. He looked over to Kevin and the old man. They seemed to have known each other. Much have been his grandfather. He patted the little girl on the head and started to step forward, but was stopped suddenly. He looked down to see that the leader had grabbed his ankle. "Hey, this one is still awake."

Suddenly, Fate was looking at the room upside down. The leader had made his way back to his feet and was now holding Fate upside down. "Alive and he seems pretty upset that I hit him with a car..." Fate should have known that this wasn;t going to be easy. It would have been nice if he known the guy had powers. Of course when the little girl saw this she ran back to her mother. "Mommy! The bad man got the Green Latern!" Fate sighed. Was that girl color blind? Half-stupid? Fate tried kicking the guy with his free leg, but failed. He threw Fate forward, sending him flying pass Kevin and the old guy into the bank's counter. The leader moved his neck around and let out a laugh. "Why do I always have to fight people who are super strong!?" He asked himself as he slowly got up. That hurt like hell! He gave Kevin the thumbs up to make him aware that he was okay. Now to punish this guy! "Oh, he really strong too... Not as strong as you Kayaman, but pretty strong..."

Kayaman looked down at the ground and drooped his shoulders after being scolded by the older gentleman. He knew that the car was a bit overboard, but he wasn't the one who did it! "Hey look at him, he did it!" He replied shaking his hands infront of then pointing to Static. The man's next words confused Kayaman to a large degree. "Huh? What do you mean I should be training? How do you know about that?! Just who are you?" Something about this man seemed familiar, yet he couldn't place his finger on it. Hopefully the answers would come quicker than the questions.

Kayaman stayed fixed on this man while Static was having his problems with the little girl, he couldn't help but smirk when he introduced their new team name. It sounded so awesome! He turned around as Static stated one was awake, but was shocked when he was being held upside down by him. "Oh no..." He mumbled as his buddy was thrown across the room like a rag doll. "Static!" He exclaimed, hoping his friend was alright. He let out a sigh of relief when Fate let him know he was alright.

Kayaman entered his battle stance, and gave the man a steely look as he listened to Fate's warning. "This should be no problem then!" He said charging in at full speed, sending his right fist flying aimed at the guy's face. If what Static said was true, then Kevin shouldn't have too much problem taking care of this guy. After all, he was probably the strongest person in the room in terms of strength.

Judge was annoyed at this whole thing but he knew nothing would come out of it. And he knew exactly what to take his rage out on. "WILD WOLF STYLE!" Judge yelled as he disappeared in a blur and appeared in front of the leader of the robbers. " I hope your a lefty." Judge growled as he attempted to slash off his right hand in a fast swipe and was going to follow up with a kick to his chest. I suppose I'll lecture these two later. Or something. Judge thought before attempted his combination attack.

Fate was a little mad that this was about to be over so soon. He really wanted to put his hands on that guy for tossing him like that. Then again, Fate did hit him with a car. But that was an accident... Somewhat. As Kevin moved at his super speed and planted his right fist into the guy it sent him smashing into the hood of the police car. So far he was nearly in the back seat. Now that's what I call safe drivin'... Ya get it? No. And I don't plan on getting any of your jokes. Yeah, ima shut up. The leader got out from the smashed car and let out a evil laugh. Maybe this was going to be harder than it look. He picked up the hood with one hand and attempted to slam it across Kevin's body, hoping to send him flying. "Do you not know who I am!? I am CopyKat!"

[/color] The leader than reached in his jacket and pulled out a cat like mask and put it on. Fate tilted his head to the side and tried not to laugh. Copykat? Really!? "Sorry, never heard of you. What's your power? Super strength and cat-like reflexes?"

"No, you idiot! Anybody I happen to touch or if they touch me I get their abilities."[/color] He was cut short when the Judge had appeared in from of him. "I'm actually ambidextrous!" He pulled his right hand back quickly to advoid it being cut off. But wasn't quick enough to stop the second attack. CopyKat slid backwards a bit then smiled at the Judge. It makes sense now. He has a cat mask and he copies abilities. CopyKat. That's actually kinda cleaver. If I was stupid I would be jealous of that guy. So... that means he got our abilities... If what he says is true, yes. Uh... So... it's pretty impressive that he could control our powers. ......

Okay, the situation just took a turn for really worst. Fate's abilities are extremely hard to control. He might still not be able to control them if it wasn't for the years of experimenting. Right on cue, CopyKat's eyes turned crimson. Everything started to go haywired once again. the lights in the buliding started to flicker. The computers all started to explode. Cars on the street begun to start along with their alarms. "What the hell is going on!!?" Metallic objects start to fly toward CopyKat, hovering around his body. Even some of the cars started to be dragged to the Kat's magnetic pull. "Yeah... My powers are a real diva... " Fate looked at all the innocent people still here. It would suck if that guy over charged and went off like a bomb. No, he couldn't let that happen. Fate ran forward and was planning to try and take him out, but then Kat lifted his hand. A large energy started to form in his hand causing the Kat to have a shocked look upon his face. "What the hell!! How many different powers do y'all have!?"[/color] As the blast was release, Fate was getting ready to dodge it when he remember that there was some innocent people behind him. He let out a sigh and braced himself for them impact of the blast, planting his feet on the floor. Crimson electricity fromed around his arms as he held his palms out in front of him, stopping the blast. He pushed him back a few feet before he deflected it to the ceiling. The impact causing the ceiling to come crashing down. Think fast! Think really fast!!! LET ME CONCENTRATE!!!" He quickly spread his body out as far as he could, creating a dome like structure of solid electricity around everyone. When he was sure that the last of the debris had fell the dome faded away. Fate took a deep breath and looked around to see if everyone was okay. Bad time for a joke? Very bad. After seeing everyone was okay Fate fell to one knee from the ammount of stress he just put on himself to perform such at action. "Taking five... Maybe ten... And, uh, we might wanna stop this guy before he explodes..."[/blockquote]

When the guy went flying through the car, Kevin thought it was over. He let out a breath of relief and turned around to face Fate and gave him a thumbs up and a cheesy smile. His smile slowly faded as he heard the man moving around again, then he spoke as Kevin turned back around to face him once more. "You... you're still up?!" He questioned confused. Just what in the hell was this guy? He didn't have much time to ponder this however, as he was now being sent across the room via a smack from the hood of a car. He slammed into the wall and bounced back to the ground. "Damnit!" He exclaimed in pain. He slowly got back to his feet, shaking his head trying to rid himself of the pain.

He looked at Fate when the guy gave his name, and smacked his forehead. "How could you not get that?! Moron!" He watched the guy's new found powers go haywire and took a step back. "Apparently he can't handle your level of feminity Static.... A shame really."

He watched as the guy had also stolen his powers. 'Great.' He thought sighing. As Fate took a knee after saving the innocents, he knew he had to do his part to get them to safety. "I hate using this technique... but I don't think I have a choice." He groaned, powering up, a whitish flame-like aura surrounding his body. He disappeared like a blur, grabbing all the hostages and taking them outside to the police, before coming back inside within a matter of seconds. "Now to take him out before he destroys everything within 3 blocks of here, since Static's lazy ass is taking a break!" He ran towards the guy, and let loose a barrage of energy blasts, aimed at all parts of his body.

Judge sheathed his blade again and stared at the man who called himself CopyKat. He should try and think outside the box more. he thought as he rubbed his chin. Then again The Judges own name was.....well....The Judge. He couldn't be judging a B-rate villains name on principle now. He watched Fate pull off a Big Damn Hero moment (I.E badass shit to stop badguys) and then nodded as he mentioned taking a break. "Kevin and I should be enough. Now lets see what you have learned kid." he grinned as he watched Kevin power up to levels that would make his power form fight with caution. So he hasn't been slacking. I guess he won't get beat. Judge thought as he wondered how to best help Kevin in his strike. Disappearing in a blur Judge attempted to do a kicking sweep on the CopyKat. He was hoping he would trip CopyKat face first into Kevin's blasts. If not Judge was prepared to leap back out using the foot he planted on the ground.
