It was late at night, pitch black and not a single sound went through the streets, not even a car. The only sound was light footsteps touching the pavement as Takeshi walked through the empty streets. He had that more and more demons had started to appear in Jump lately, so began his search to get id of them. He had been out more and staying up later than he would like to, but that's what he did when things faced demons. So far though, his hunt was going unsuccessful and he was getting more tired by the second. He wiped at his eyes as he slowly walked across the streets, feeling as if there was hundred pound weights tied to them. |Ugh, I'm so tired.. Forget it, I'm not going to school tomorrow. I'll have to set up some alarm system if a demon is spotted. They must be hiding somewhere around here.. Just where is the question. I'll find them, just gotta have patience.. Such wretched beings have no right to live, so I'll be glad to fulfill that for them. Their nothing but m- He was going to think, or say, whatever, monster but he ended up tripping and falling to his knees. Dammit..
Sighing, Takeshi stood up and brushed himself off. Looking to the side, he went over to a water fountain and got a drink, as well as splashing some in his face. He took his sleeve and died himself off and began his search again. He searched in the alleys, only finding some stray animals and gangs. He sighed again and felt defeated. "Where the hell are you, you bastards!!!!" He yelled, and the only thing he heard was his voice echoing. He placed his hands on his knees and glared at the ground when he suddenly heard a noise. His head jolted up as he saw a silhouetted figure go farther down the streets.
Takeshi stood there for a second, then got himself together and began to run after the figure. Found you! Don't think you're getting away!! His jacket from his uniform flew as the wind slapped him in the face when he ran down the streets and was catching up to the figure quite fast. He whipped out DDS and aimed it at the figure, knowing, or assuming it to be a demon, but the figure disappeared before he could pull the trigger. He panted slightly as his eyes were wide open. It, disappeared..?! He tightened his grip on DDS and turned, quickly lifting his leg and breaking a wooden sign behind him. "Dammit!!" He yelled as he plopped himself down and laid on the bench, covering his eyes with his arm. He soon then began to drift off into sleep by accident.

Not needing to sleep like most mortals had it's advantages and disadvantages. Of course, he couldn't think of any disadvantages at the moment, but since when did he ever think of something useful? He was lounging out on the rooftop of a building, tracing patterns in the sky lazily with a finger as his train of thought - wait, could his thought process even be compared to a train? If so, it was a very terrible train, always derailing and crashing into things. Would people even still ride that train, or would they prefer to walk?
Someone yelled down on the street, and he jerked up into an upright sitting position, his eyes and face blank as he adjusted. Tragedy struck today on Widow's Peak, as the 10:15 train ran off the tracks and demolished three farm homes...why was it running, anyway?
He dived down onto his stomach and crawled over to the edge of the rooftop, peering down at the street. A man was laying down on a bench with an arm over his eyes, and a short distance away, a broken wooden sign lay on the cement. Why hadn't he heard that break? Maybe the train's steam whistle was too loud.
He rolled over to the edge of the roof and dropped off, pausing in mid-air as he turned himself upright. He nonchalantly brushed off his coat before walking down towards the street, looking to anyone else like he was taking a leisurely stroll down an invisible staircase. When he'd gotten about 10 feet from the man and 5 feet from the ground, he sat down cross-legged and reached into his right sleeve, searching for something. He withdrew his hand, the end of his sleeve billowing out impossibly as he produced a large cone of cotton candy. He shook the arm and the sleeve returned to normal size as he took a bite of the sugary substance, watching the man with a vague interest. He had nothing but time, and this way, he didn't have to rack his mind over what he should do next...

Takeshi just laid there, not doing anything, of course, but sleeping and thinking. Ugh, I'm tired.. Hell, when am I not tired? Sleeping for, I don't know, twenty-four hours of straight sleep wouldn't make me tired? Kisa would never let me sleep for that long though, she'd get worried about me not eating or drinking anything.. I haven't spent much time with her.. Well, don't I feel bad now. I'll be sure to spend some more time with her when I get caught up on sleep, I don't wanna yell at her by accident. I'd hate myself if I did. Well, I already hate myself, dammit, I can't even think straight anymore!
A sense of another being nearby went through Takeshi, but it didn't feel exactly like a demon, or even dangerous for that matter so ignored it. He wasn't going to waste his time on pointless things. As he slept, sort of, he felt as if he was getting a bit stronger. Like his body was finally recuperating after a long period of time. Well, it had been awhile since he has had a proper rest, but still. I hate being tired.. Damn demons! If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be tired!! Then again, if I ended up finishing all the demons in Jump, then Kisa and I would have to move and we have no money, so I guess I must be thankful to the bastards for finding me instead of the other way around. At that thought, he smirked and chuckled slightly.
Takeshi's smirk vanished when he felt the presence moving. Then it stopped, but ended up moving again. Whoever it was was closer now and he could suddenly smell cotton candy. Cotton candy? Really? Sighing silently, he reached into his jacket and pulled out DDS, pointing it straight at where he sensed the presence. He raised his arm just enough for a bit of his eye to show, which was open now but completely angry and he was glaring. He didn't say anything nor did he want to, he just laid there with the gun pointing right at him, waiting for the guy's next move.

Mmm, cotton candy. Candy that, despite the name, you can't wear as clothing...who first thought to spin sugar into thread? And where did that idea come from? I'd like to find that person and shake their hand...after washing mine, because these gloves are getting a bit sticky from the candy.
The man he was watching sighed and reached into his jacket while Gabriel watched him thoughtfully, chewing on the rapidly dissolving spun sugar. Oo, a gun. He had always found those devices interesting, despite being utterly terrible with one...but still, that didn't mean he couldn't admire the engineering, right? The man's arm shifted and Gabriel caught a glimpse of one of the man's eyes, full of very unabashed hatred. Well he didn't quite understand that reaction...sure, he knew that people liked their privacy, but that was a moot point when you slept on a bench, wasn't it?
He took another big bite of cotton candy, letting it partially dissolve in his mouth as he pondered the situation. When he finally opened his mouth, it wasn't his normal voice that came out - he was fascinated by different accents, and being a magical being, it wasn't a huge feat to just adopt one of them on the fly. Currently it was a heavy, affected, and very stereotypical French accent. Why not, he reasoned to himself? "That is a very big gun you have there. Hunting those...word is..." A beat pause, before he raised his left arm and held it out beside his nose, pointing upwards at a 45-degree angle. "With the grey skin and trunks for moving water?" Keeping the arm up, he squinted his eyes and furrowed his brow, opening his mouth and issuing out the trumpeting sound of an elephant. If one didn't know better, they'd swear they'd just heard a real live elephant out on the streets of Jump. "You know, yes?"
