Night time dawned on Jump city and all through the town not a creature was stirring not even a sound.
But then there was a crash outside the moderately sized warehouse that was located in the business area of the city, the clanging sound of metal hitting metal as the chain link fence rattled. Luckily the place was rather deserted for the night, so even if someone had heard him then they wouldn't be able to get there in time.
Kari had a reason for being here, he knew how much was at risk for him if anyone found him. Especially with why he had came here, sweat dripped from his brow softly.
Slowly he made his way away from the fence, hiding behind boxes and walls as he continued to make his way toward the warehouse. He found his way to a adjacent door, it was cracked just enough for him to sneak his way in.
He looked around the place, quietly sneaking to a small open area in the middle of a square of boxes and he smiled. Ever sense he had met some crazy guy who was convinced Kari was a demon not that long ago he started thinking about his own powers. He felt a sort of need to find a way to control them a little better, after all blowing up his locker and causing public damage was something that was starting to draw attention to himself, and he really didn't want that.
Although he never really wanted to use his powers either, but it was better than people finding out, or attacking him. So here in the secluded emptiness of the warehouse he decided that he would just try to practice a little. Even though he still had no idea how to really control his powers, and most of the time they ended up doing something horrible.
But he shrugged off the idea and slowly concentrated, his eyes closing as he balled his hands into fists at his side and tried to make something happen. Slowly something did happen, and Kari was surprised when he opened his eyes to find himself two feet off the ground, the air pressure around him had become thinner and thinner until his own mass floated up.
He smiled at this and started thinking about going up higher, so he got a little careless and just held his hands out, not concentrating very hard. The next thing he knew there was a loud hiss, a thin white mist seemed to explode around Kari and he fell to the floor of the warehouse looking around rather dazed. He coughed as the rough smoke bit at his lungs and burned his eyes, although he wouldn't know what it was his body had expelled a thin vapor of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). Quickly he tried to get up and he started making his way back toward the space he had came in from, only to fall over, he was feeling incredibly dizzy and he looked around only to see the colors of the world changing softly around him, things looking as if they were melting and he started to freak out.
The next thing he knew Kari was standing up looking around, his hands over his ears as he held on to his head. His eyes opened briefly for a moment, their color glowing bright blue in the darkness as there was a sudden hiss. Pressure was building up in crates, boxes, and barrels around the warehouse. Kari was completely out of control and the next thing he knew something exploded around him, the noise causing a security system to go off. This only caused Kari to become even more startled as he dropped to his knees, two more explosions causing even more noise over the buzzing siren as Kari struggled to grasp reality.
