Rin's school outfit is a little complex, but not neccesarily. Underneath her school attire, but part of it, is a green long-sleeve; the ends of the sleeves stick out. The actual uniform that goes over this is plain white, made up of a white long-sleeve and a white frilly skirt. In the middle of the shirt is a yellow bow. the usuual required black tights and black shows are required as well.
However, Rin's regular style is much different, somewhat revealing. Various outfits expressing her independent self come from her closet. Rin is the sort of girl to wear black, and chokers. She has a style all her own, and isn't afraid to show it.

Overall Personality | Independent and brave, Rin is different from others. She can be mysterious to others, but she has her reasons. She can seem cold and distant, when really, she's an innocent, hurt puppy on the inside. This rigid, exterior is what is left from her past, so she doesn't really know how to manage it. Self-centered and careless, Rin is sharp-tongued. However, she does have a gentle, concerning side for others, but she hides it because of incidents in her past. Rin can often be really impatient or get angry easily; not trusting many, if anyone, and will often act coldly towards strangers because of lack of social skills -- although these social skills are somewhat increasing with Aki appearing. Rin stands up for what she believes in, and never truely gives up.
SPECIAL
Powers and Abilities |
Mediumship - Rin is able to sense, see, and talk to spirits. One spirit in particular, named Aki, often comes to see her. However, this power is fairly new to her; as it was recently discovered a few days after Rin awoke from death, somehow ressurrected by her deceased best friend. Now she is alive again, or somewhat alive seeing to it that other monsters and demons may smell her reek of death. Since this new ability arrived after her wake, Aki is here to help her.
Emotions - Although not a power, Rin's emotions seem to stimulate her powers. She has learned to control this, so that her emotions and her powers won't harm anyone or anything. She can usually keep it under control, like if she is angry, her poison won't outburst like it used to, or if she is upset, her darkness is under control. However, her powers aren't completely stable, so sometimes Rin can lose control of her powers -- which is somewhat scary to her.
Superhuman Skills and Flexibility - These skills Rin occupied before she died, and still has. She has superhuman strength, senses, and durability. Rin also inhabits cat-like reflexes; swift and quick, and always able to land on her feet.
Poison - This is how Rin got the nickname "Poison", from her well-known poison abilities. Basically, this mysterious silver-green poison can come in all different forms; from wavy, to spray-like, even in the shape of a sword. However, this poison cannot kill a person, merely severly injure them or cause them to go into unconciousness. Rin is immune to the poision she generates, or any other poisons or toxins. However, this power can very well Drain Rin's stamina and energy, which is why she rarely uses it.
Darkness - Rin is able to create and manipulate dark energy, a very rare ability. With this darkness, like Raven, Rin is able to create many shapes that manifest in Dark Energy, like orbs, dark fire and ice, shields, domes, or grappling hands. Poison uses this manipulation of darkness to her advantage for both offense and defense, and is therefore stronger at night.
Weaknesses |
- Mnemophobia{Fear of her Memories}
- Fear of Demon Hunters
- Her poison powers drain her energy
- Expressing/Admitting her feelings/inner self
- Her Emotions -- can be a disadvantage
- Her mediumship, which she isn't exactly familiar with yet, can distract her at times
Strengths |
- Her independent/self reliance. On the outside, she's confident and strong-willed
- Her mediumship and her spirit friend, Aki, sometimes
- Her Dark Energy
- Her Emotions -- sometimes can be used to an advantage when she loses control

History | Rin was a happy child when she was born, always laughing and playing. She was optimistic, and her parents were glad to see her happy. However, all that changed when Proffesional Demon Hunters broke into their home one night and slaughtered her father right in front of her very eyes when she was 9. This traumatized Rin horribly, as she had been close to her father. She stood there in utter shock and petrification, gawking at her father's murderers, who were about to strike her. She was terrified, and no young child should have suffered such a horrid sight. Her mother had to grab her and literally carry her away to get them to safety. The Demon Hunters chased after them, and just when Rin's mother, Miyu, thought her and her daughter were safe, they closed in on them.
Rin, young and terrified, closed her eyes and outbrusted into a scream. Rin's emotions had triggered her powers, and immediately, the Professional Demon Exterminators were struck with dark lightening energy. Rin opened her eyes, noticing silence, and realized what she had done: she had killed lives. Crying now, she began to compare herself to the horrid murderers that had just killed her father. She cried that her scream had ended their lives, and that she was no better than the Demon Hunters themselves. This scream, however, is what saved Rin and her mother. Miyu held her traumatized child in her arms and made "shh" noises, trying to calm her. They had managed to escape, but barely, and only by Rin's accidental strike, had they survived.
Somehow, Rin and her mother managed to find a place to live. Miyu had found a job at a bar, not a very good one -- but it gave her income, and gave her and Rin food and shelter. The incident with Rin's father and Miyu's husband had changed the both of them. Miyu was undescriptively devastated, and Rin's whole personality had changed, she was 13 now. Rin and her mother always thought about their father/husband, and never forgot that day. Miyu, trying to make herself feel better, would drink while on duty at her job, hoping to ease the suffering she was feeling. She came home late every night, and under the conspiracy of too much achohol, would abuse and beat Rin for no apparent reason, cursing at her and telling her that it was all her fault that their father/husband had gotten killed. Of course, this made Rin blame herself even more for what had happened that day the Demon Hunters had slaughtered her father. She had felt guilty and helpless ever since that day she had witnessed her father's death, and killed a group of human men. Her mom, completely changing and abusing her. just made her feel worse.
Yet, somehow, Rin went and made it through school, often hiding her abnormal powers, speices, and past from others. She was trying to live out her father's quote, "to never give up or give in". However, despite her hard efforts to hide her race, it still somehow got out. As if her horrid memories and achoholic mother wasn't bad enough, Rin was a half-breed; a race not liked by many, and because of this, she was picked on, teased, made fun of, and bullied all the time. She tried to fight back with her sharp-tongue and independent nature, but it didn't help. It just added more guilt and remorse towards herself, and her idolized quote materialized.
She finally couldn't take it anymore; all this torture and remorse. Her mother. The constant harressment, teasing, and isolation. All those terrible memories. So, Rin ran. She literally ran until her legs couldn't carry her anymore. Somehow, she ended up in the middle of a forest. She plopped down onto the dirt ground below. She was finally away, finally free. Or, so she thought.
Not far from where she was resting, a girl around Rin's age spotted her. The girl then skipped over to Rin, and gave her a friendly smile. The girl offered Rin her hand. Rin flinched, thinking the girl was going to hit her. Then, surprisingly, the girl grabbed Rin's hand and helped Rin up, introducing herself as Mori. Rin stood and stared at the girl for many moments, trying to fathom why she would be so nice to her. As far as she knew, she was a nothing -- someone who no one liked and blamed everything for. Yet, this girl standing right in front of her, named Mori, was being nice to her and smiling, despite Rin's race or horrid past. Rin, for the first time, smiled. Tears trickled down her cheeks, and she hugged Mori. And strangely enough, Mori comforted Rin, telling her everything would be okay. Not long after, Rin and Mori became friends, allowing Rin to finally feel accepted.
The two went to school together, and became best friends all through school. Mori stood up against Rin's teasing and bullying, no matter how bad it was, and always defended Rin. Rin would often apologize, telling Mori that she shouldn't try and defend her, but Mori always refused and told her that she was happy to stand up for her. They soon learned each others' powers, and Rin discovered Mori inhabited Spirit, another very rare ability. She possessed the powers of ressurection, and light, while Rin inhabited the almost opposite: destruction and darkness. It was strange to be so opposite, yet still be best friends. Rin came to trust Mori after a long while of spending time with her, and Mori trusted Rin. They told each other their pasts, and their secrets, and Rin was glad she could finally be trusted and trust someone. Nevertheless, Mori was always there for Rin, and Rin always tried to please Mori in return.
Aside from this, Rin was slowly being encoraged by Mori as she grew more confident in herself. Mori assured her that she was not "worthless" and was a good person. Rin often hoped Mori was right, and she started to regain her self-assurance and bright focus on life again. However, the feelings of guilt and regret always returned when Rin's mother, who had now become an achohol addict, came home to beat Rin. This event was happening more frequently than ever, and Rin began to hate her mother for it. Soon, they got into an arguement, and Rin excaped her violent home to go to the only place she really felt herself -- Mori's house. Her staying there became more frequent as Miyu became more rash, violent, and drunk. Mori didn't mind -- for she just wanted the best for her "sister".
However, Rin's newfound comfort wasn't meant to last. Mori was 18, and had just gotten her driver's license, offering Rin a ride home since she was still 17, and hadn't been able to get one. Rin agreed, and joined her as they went onto the road. However, little did they know that Rin's mother was on the same road, and heading right toward them. The two cars had a collison, resulting in a terriable car accident. Rin and her mother died instantly within the impact, while Mori only suffered fatal injuries. Mori suddenly felt this was her fault that her "sister" was dead, and pulling all the strength she had left, brought Rin back to life. As a result, Mori died from using all her stamina and energy to ressurect her best friend, and Rin awoke from unconciousness a few moments later, knowing what had happened.
Rin felt responsible for what had happened, and instantly rushed Mori to the emergency room, with some hope. However, it had been too late for her "sister", and Mori was long dead. This event had brought back so many painful memories. She felt guilt and remorse all over again, and felt it was her fault for Mori's and her mother's death, just as she did with her father and those human Demon Hunters. And Rin, not able to handle all these deaths at once, ran away again. She ran away from her home town, running until she could breath no more.
Rin had ended up in Jump City, her personality drastically changed from the chain of events. She was now to more to herself, in denial and regret; cold and distant, she rarely spoke to anyone. Those who spoke to her were either hashed out, or threatened, and many came to fear her. A couple of days after the accident and arriving in Jump City, she began seeing spirits -- a result of being ressurected. So, now, Aki, Rin's newfound spirit aquaintance, is helping her through the mysteries of Mediumship. Rin is not thrilled by it, and is rather annoyed by it, but is learning to deal with this newfound ability nonetheless. She wanders Jump City in secret hopes of finding some sort of salvation to her memories which seem to haunt and thrive on her fear when Aki isn't there, and she's all alone. She secretly hopes to find someone that accepts her, and that will rid her of all the deaths she thinks she has commited.
OTHER
Anything Else | Rin fears her memories, and doesn't like to remember her past: her childhood, and especially the car crash -- drilled in her mind that these things are her fault. However, she usually stirs her own fears by accidently remembering, or dreaming of the awful incidents, and has something similar to a nervous breakdown once this happens. She usually ends up escaping it somehow, whether it be running away from it mentally, or physically running away from her current location.
Sample RP | It was happening again. That feeling, that fear. She was shaking -- no, that quite wasn't right. She was trembling -- yes, trembling -- because of the events repeating in her mind. Her breathing had increased to a more rapid speed, and an irregular heartbeat had already began to accerlate.
Rin stood in the center of the forest, lost and uncertain. The depth of this forest was unimaginable, and the atmosphere held an enigmatic stir. It was dark and seemed forgotten -- spooky, even -- and a light mist blanketed it. However, despite it's creepy appearance, the trees seemed more or less alive, even though their dead leaves had been long dead and crumpled. The apparition of a crecent moon hung overhead, and no stars could be seen in the night sky. Only torn, cotton clouds seemed to glide across the sky and behind the moon. And, worst of all, there were no sounds to be heard, -- not one, only silence -- leaving the wood to seem even more eerie.
She had been hiking, in this wood, thinking that it would only be a short walk. However, it seemed that she had gotten lost and, at the most vulernable of moments, they had struck her mind like an abrupt flash of light. They, being her memories, flashed through her eyes as if she was witnessing all of them all over again.
Rin squeezed her eyes shut and covered her ears, wishing for them to go away. "Ignore it." She told herself as she gritted her teeth. "Don't give in." Rin chanted. She tried to ignore it -- Rin didn't want to give in to her fear. But it was no use.
Her irregular heartbeat began to pace faster, and her breathing was increasing. Images of her past kept racing around in her mind, seeming never to rest. She opened her eyes and uncovered her ears, but was unable to block it out -- she could hear and see the past incidents as if they were happening at that exact moment. Rin couldn't handle it.
She broke out into a loud "No!", and began running -- just running. She didn't care where she was going, just as long as she ran far, far away. With each step, she became faster, and she zipped through the forest, looking just as terrified as if she were being chased by a wild beast. Only . . . it wasn't beast.
Rin was running from the thing that haunted her most -- her past.
